Utica takes two from Oswego State softball
In its final regular season doubleheader of the year, the Oswego State softball team (16-18) dropped two games to Utica (26-10) by the scores of 7-0 and 10-3.
Hundreds Walk To Raise Funds, Awareness Of Autism
The annual “Walk for Autism” drew approximately 300 people to Leighton Elementary School and the nearby Wilber Field on Saturday afternoon. Organizers admit the number was down from past years, but the participants were “just as dedicated as ever.” Besides acting as a fundraiser, the event, sponsored by the Oswego County Autism Task Force, also focused attention on the plight of Autism victims in Oswego County.

Pitching lifts Oswego State baseball team to doubleheader sweep
A day after clinching the No. 3 seed in the upcoming SUNYAC Tournament, the Oswego State baseball team (21-13, 12-6 SUNYAC) closed out its conference schedule Saturday with a pair of wins over Plattsburgh (11-23, 4-12), 4-0 in extra innings and 5-2. The Lakers finish tied for second with New Paltz (16-17, 12-6) in SUNYAC play, but the Hawks hold the tiebreaker
Oneonta bumps Oswego State women’s lacrosse out of playoff contention
The Oswego State women’s lacrosse team (7-8, 4-4 SUNYAC) was eliminated from playoff contention Saturday afternoon, losing a tight battle with Oneonta (9-8, 4-4 SUNYAC) at a sunny South Athletic Field.
Oswego State men’s lacrosse routs Canton
Seniors Casey Balzer (Nassau, N.Y.) and Connor Brown (Syracuse, N.Y.) combined to score five goals in the opening six minutes, as the Oswego State men’s lacrosse team (8-7) closed out the season with a 23-2 rout over SUNY Canton (5-6) Saturday on Senior Day.
Oswego State softball earns post-season berth
The Oswego State softball defeated Brockport 9-4, in game one of Saturday’s doubleheader to seal a spot in the SUNYAC Tournament for the second consecutive season. The Lakers erased a three-run deficit in the second game, but the Golden Eagles scored a walk-off run in the seventh to earn the split with a 4-3 win.
Lakers’ Archie races to victory
Damian Archie triumphed in the 5,000-meter run, as one of several Lakers on the men’s and women’s outdoor track and field teams to post State University of New York Athletic Conference qualifying results at the St. John Fisher Invitational on Saturday.
