The Oswego City School District will lose hundreds of years of experience when the latest retirees leave at the end of the school year. Recently, Superintendent of Schools Bill Crist and Board Vice President Kathleen Allen recognized the newest retirees for their contributions.
The Oswego County Legislature’s Economic Development and Planning Committee recently presented a proclamation designating April as Fair Housing Month to Legislator James Karasek, District 22; representing the Fair Housing Council.

Donald Langdon, 76, of Fulton, who died January 31, 2013, will have a committal service and spring burial 11 a.m. May 2 at Chase Cemetery, Lysander, with Rev. David Nethercott officiating.
Edward Devendorf, 79, of Fulton, who died December 27, 2012, will have a committal service and spring burial 11 a.m. May 4 at Mount Adnah Cemetery, Fulton, with Rev. Mark Kimpland officiating.
Riding a three-game conference winning streak, the Oswego State baseball team (19-13, 10-6 SUNYAC) came back from an early deficit to pick up a huge win over Plattsburgh (11-21, 4-12), 7-5. With the victory, the Lakers clinched the third-seed in the SUNYAC Tournament, and will face New Paltz in the first game of the SUNYAC Tournament.
The Oswego Alumni Association will present the Outstanding Senior Award to two candidates for May graduation at the Commencement Eve Dinner preceding SUNY Oswego’s traditional Torchlight Ceremony on May 17. Recipients are Barbara Ciceron, a political science and communication studies major, and Mary Yaeger, a public relations major.
Taylor Mahle turns 7 on May 12. She will celebrate with friends and family at Lakeview Lanes in Fulton.
