Kathleen H. Galloway, 66, of North Syracuse, former resident of Liverpool, Pennellville and Phoenix, NY, died peacefully in her sleep on Tuesday September 24, 2013, at the Cortland Regional Hospital, Cortland, NY.

Former Oswego City School District Superintendent Bill Crist will take over as superintendent of the Syracuse Diocesan schools early next spring. Crist retired from his post in Oswego at the end of the last shcool year. He will begin his duties for the Syracuse Diocese in March.
The New York State Education Department recently announced that Sandy Creek High School has been designated as a Reward School. The only school in Oswego County to receive this recognition, and one of only a handful of schools in the Central New York region, Sandy Creek High School was selected based on its significant progress in several areas and their and the highest achievement in the state with no significant gaps in student achievement.

The Oswego Public Library is bringing to a close its third and final gallery show of Ella Wheeler’s glass plate negatives. Ella took photographs around town and as far away as Connecticut and Michigan from 1900 to 1909. The gallery is located in the lowest level of the library along with the Library Learning Center, Community Room and restrooms.
John Shaver, board president of the Children’s Museum of Oswego, was the featured speaker at the Fulton Lions Club September 19 meeting. Shaver explained that CMOO’s mission was to establish a non-profit children’s museum to benefit children and families throughout Oswego County.
