Marching Bucs Fourth in NYS Championships

The Oswego High School Marching BucsThe Oswego High School Marching Bucs completed their first year competing in Small Schools1 classification with a fourth place season-ending performance at the Syracuse University Carrier Dome. Oswego received a score of 85.15 at the New York State Field Band Conference Championship event. Just two weeks ago the band captured the Freedom Cup in Nazareth, Pa., and last week earned first place in their class at Central Square.

Civil War Author to Present Lecture at Oswego County Historical Society on November 10

The Oswego County Historical Society will host the final lecture of 2013 on November 10 at 1:30 p.m. at the Richardson-Bates House Museum at 135 E. Third St. The event is free and open to the public. Local author Dr. Natalie Woodall will present a program entitled “Those Fightin’ Adriance Boys,” which will highlight the lives of Oswego veterans William Adriance and his sons, Harry and Edward.
