The inaugural Oswego Bike Fest will kick start at Oswego Speedway on Friday, providing non-stop entertainment throughout the entire weekend inside the Port City ‘Steel Palace’ oval. While Oswego Bike Fest is geared toward motorcycle enthusiasts, the festival will provide food, drinks, and entertainment for three straight days that will appeal to any and all spectators, not just those with motorcycles.
Sandy Creek Central School District students heading back to school in September will see some new faces at the elementary, middle and high school. The district welcomed this summer new teaching staff members John DeGone, Elise Lofaro, and Marissa Paquin.
The Sandy Creek Central School District in cooperation with the United Way and with the support of donations from community members, businesses and the Salvation Army Red Kettle Campaign helped 89 students in the community get ‘geared up’ for the school year.

Four nonprofit organizations that serve the Pulaski area received grants totaling $10,500 from the Pulaski Community Fund. The John Ben Snow Memorial Trust provided seed money in 1991 to establish a charitable fund within the Central New York Community Foundation to benefit the greater Pulaski community.
The USTA Tennis Program teaches basic tennis skills and gives youth a chance to get outside and exercise, said the program’s coordinator. A carnival was held to give them a chance to show off what they’ve learned. The USTA Summer Tennis Program began in 2006 and is run through the Oswego City-County Youth Bureau.
The music of one of the area’s most popular big bands will fill the air along West Linear Park as the Greater Oswego-Fulton Chamber of Commerce 2013 Summer Concert Series concludes with a live performance by The Do Good Swing Band on Aug. 20 from 7 to 9 p.m. on the Veterans’ Stage in downtown Oswego.
William J. Runeari, 61, of 1 Jonquil Trail, Oswego, passed away Saturday August 17, 2013.
