This year’s Leadership Oswego County class chose to honor our area’s older population and acknowledge all their contributions and sacrifices they have made on behalf of our community. Members of the Leadership Oswego County class collected items to help residents of area nursing homes celebrate their birthdays and make them memorable events.

The Oswego Lions Club will host the second annual River’s Edge “handmade” Craft Show on June 9. The event will take place on West Liner Park, right on the river’s edge, in Oswego. Hours for the show will be from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The first River’s Edge Craft show was a huge success!

The Oswego County District Attorney’s Office has joined forces with the National Traffic Safety Council to bring the Alive at 25 Program to Oswego County. This 4-hour driver’s awareness course is designed to educate younger drivers.

This annual event will be held at All Saints’ Episcopal Church Hall on Academy Street on June 8 from 8 a.m. – 3 p.m. The proceeds from this annual fundraiser go to fund nine scholarships to high school students throughout the Oswego County school districts.

Each year in the U.S., approximately 30,000 young people leave the foster care system without lifelong families. Devoted foster parents are making great efforts to change the life of a child or youth in foster care by providing them with the security and stability that they need.
