Rep. Dan Maffei (D-NY) announced that the Cody, Granby Center, Minetto, City of Oswego, and Town of Oswego fire departments will all receive grants totaling $514,553 in Round 20 of the FY2012 Assistance to Firefighters Grant Program which is administered by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security Federal Emergency Management Agency.
Excellus BlueCross BlueShield has donated $1,000 to support Oswego County Opportunities’ annual bowling tournament fundraiser, the “Lucky 13” Bowl-A-Fun. Proceeds for this year’s event are being directed toward services that help the homeless or nearly homeless in Oswego County.

The Oswego State women’s lacrosse team (4-4, 1-1 SUNYAC) trailed by three goals with 11 minutes remaining in the second half, but rallied late to defeat 19th-ranked Geneseo (5-3, 0-2), 13-12 in overtime, Thursday afternoon.
