The United Way of Greater Oswego County recently presented the Spirit of Community Award to the Oswego Elks Lodge #271. The award is presented annually to volunteers who care and want to make a difference in their community.

Four vehicles were involved in a chain reaction rear-end MVA, according to the Onondaga County Sheriff’s Office. The accident reportedly happened at Soule Road and Fairway Drive East shortly before 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. One of the drivers, an Oswego resident, and her passenger suffered minor injuries, deputies said.

The class of 2013 for Leadership Oswego County, a program of SUNY Oswego’s Office of Business and Community Relations, is kicking off its “Supporting Our Seniors” campaign.
The class will focus on providing gift bags for residents of selected senior living facilities in Oswego County. The bags will contain items identified as needed by those living there.
