The recent snowfall and narrowing of some streets has made it difficult and challenging to get DPW Equipment as well as fire apparatus through some streets, city officials report. DPW Commissioner Michael Smith, Police Chief Tory Decaire and Fire Chief Jeffrey McCrobie urge residents whenever possible not to park directly opposite other vehicles on these streets.
The Oswego County Tourism Office, in collaboration with Jefferson, Onondaga, Cortland and Broome counties, announced the launch of the 81exits.com mobile website. The website developed by Syracuse agency ABC Creative Group uses geolocation to find “where to stop when you’re on the go.” This definitive exit-by-exit guide to nearby gas, food and lodging also includes attraction recommendations and descriptions for each community along the I-81 corridor.
The council voted 7-0 Monday to approve the Oswego Yacht Club’s request to use public space to host several regattas this season. However, two councilors had reservations regarding the club’s proposal to expand a deck on the property the club leases from the city.
