Fairley Healthy Family Night set for March 3
Good nutrition practices, exercise habits and positive lifestyle choices will be in the spotlight during Fairley Healthy Family Night on March 3. The inaugural event will take place from 5-7 p.m. at Hannibal’s Fairley Elementary School, and the entire school community is invited to attend.
Veteran cast ready to take the stage in ‘Curtains’
When the musical whodunit comedy “Curtains” takes the stage during a three-day run at Fulton’s G. Ray Bodley High School auditorium in March, six familiar faces will greet the audience. A core group of seniors consisting of Logan Carvey, Mark Parry and Brad Crofoot will team with veteran actresses Lexi Abelgore, Kaitlyn Kinney and Kennedie Coyne in the lead and supporting roles of the murder mystery.
Fulton Art Association will host show
The Fulton Art Association will host its eighth High School Invitational Art and Photography Show on March 1 from 10 a.m. – 8 p.m. and March 2 from noon – 4 p.m. The show is held in the Community Room of the Fulton Municipal Building, 141 S First St., Fulton, and is free to attend.
Wind Power Themed Coffeecake Meeting Scheduled March 3
The Oswego County Farm Bureau will be hosting its March Coffeecake Meeting on March 3 at the Oswego County Federal Credit Union in Mexico. It is located on Scenic Ave./Route 3 North. The meeting will start at 1 p.m. in the Community Room.
Local Girl Scouts Celebrate World Thinking Day
Girl Scout Troops from Daisys to Cadettes celebrated World Thinking Day on Sunday and local troops did their part at the Municipal Building with displays of food, clothes, geographic and cultural highlights from other nations.
“It’s about different Girl Scouts all over the world and what they’re learning,” said 9-year-old Trinity, a first year Brownie Girl Scout from Hannibal.

SAFE Act Needs Repeal, Proves to Hinder Job Growth
Remington Arms announced last week that it will open a large manufacturing plant in Alabama. While I don’t begrudge another state from securing these high-paying manufacturing jobs, I do begrudge our own leaders for forcing the “SAFE Act” upon its people and hindering economic development right here in New York. Its passage has undoubtedly affected Remington Arms, located in Illion, NY, for more than a century, from expanding in its home state.
