I was out shopping a few days ago with my granddaughters who are nuts (in a good way) about animals. So, on a whim really, I took them into a pet store to see the puppies for sale. I would never actually buy a puppy from a pet store because I know about the problem of puppy mills, but I thought it would be fun for them. Boy, was I wrong!

Barclay to Host American Red Cross Blood Drive in Fulton
Assemblyman Will Barclay will host an American Red Cross blood drive on May 2 at Believer’s Chapel, 614 S. Fourth St., Fulton. “Hospitals are in critical need of blood for emergency rooms throughout our region. Giving blood truly saves lives. In fact, one donation can save up to three lives,” said Barclay.

University Police participate in annual ‘Buckle-Up’ campaign
University Police at SUNY Oswego will have special patrols out looking for motorists who are not wearing their seatbelts from April 21 to May 4. The patrols are part of the nationwide “Buckle-Up Day and Night” campaign. The larger campaign is traditionally scheduled in late May, but University Police is granted a variation to run earlier because of college graduation in May.
