Library To Share Poems As Part Of National Library Week
The Oswego Public Library will hold a reading of favorite poems on April 24 beginning with Mayor Tom Gillen at 1:30 p.m. Let the library know your favorite poem and we’ll print it out and post it to one of the pillars in the main reading room during National Library Week from April 13-19.

Safe Haven Museum Wants Your Stories
If you or someone in your family has memories of the 1944-1946 Fort Ontario Emergency Refugee Shelter located in Oswego, then the Safe Haven Museum wants to hear from you. Museum board members and SUNY Oswego students have launched a project called, “The Neighbors Project,” to collect and catalogue these stories.

I took in a stray cat last winter. He had been hanging around my back porch looking pathetic and it got to one of those 10 below nights. The next thing I knew he was in my bed with me. He was thin but seemed to be in pretty good shape and had been neutered. So, now that I have gotten very fond of Mr. Slim, I found out that he is FIV positive!

The halls of Riley Elementary have been turned into a huge gallery showcasing the beautiful artwork of students in grades K through sixth. Youth Art Month is an annual observance in March to emphasize the value of art and art education for all children and to encourage public support for quality school art programs.
