APW students discovered that there are many different types of insects; could identify and describe the three main body parts of insects: the head, thorax, and abdomen; and also learned about such things as exoskeletons, metamorphosis, and molting.
State Senator Patty Ritchie has announced she has secured $3 million in special funding to be split between SUNY Canton and SUNY Oswego that will allow the colleges to enhance learning by making much needed additions and upgrades. At SUNY Oswego, $1 million in funding will be used to construct three high-tech classrooms in the school of education.

Students who achieve grade averages of 3.80 and above on the 4.00 scale are named to the President’s List, representing the top 7.7 percent of Oswego students.
“The event encourages kayakers and canoeists to enjoy and appreciate the unique beauty of the historic Oswego River, followed by good food and music along the canal in Oswego,” according to Jake Mulcahey, Paddlefest chairman. A portion of the money raised was donated to the Oswego City-County Youth Bureau for activities that support youth and families in Oswego County.
The first Oswego County Youth Firefighters’ Day will be held on June 29 at the Oswego ERTC and the Scriba Volunteer Fire Department. Two training evolutions will be held at the Oswego County ERTC and two at the Scriba Volunteer Fire Department. The Scriba Volunteer Fire Department is heading up the program with the assistance of Oswego County Fire Coordinator Don Forbes and the ERTC.
