The free, six-week program developed by Stanford University will be held Tuesdays from 9:30 a.m. until noon, beginning July 15 in the conference room of the Fulton Medical Center.

New York State is fortunate to have so many unique places to visit. One of those places is Howe Caverns which I found just as impressive on my third visit as I did on my first two visits decades ago. Howe Caverns took six million years to create and it is not finished yet, but the change is slow. Even if the changes in the caverns are not discernible other changes are. There is now a rock wall, zip lines, and even a bungee-style activity for those looking for thrills.
Spring 2014 goes into the record book a little cooler than average. But, it wasn’t as cold as Bill Gregway, local observer for the National Weather Service, thought it would be. It was 1.7 degrees cooler than average. “I thought it was going to be a lot cooler,” Gregway said. Summer finally arrives at 6:51 a.m. Saturday (June 21).
