St. Luke Team Readies for ‘Relay For Life’ in Support of American Cancer Society

Staff from across The St. Luke Family of Caring have been doing some extra walking around the healthcare campus lately in preparation for the upcoming Relay For Life event taking place June 13 and 14 at the Oswego High School track. The Relay For Live event raises money in support of the American Cancer Society and the battle to help end cancer.

“Crafting for a Cure” from Fitzhugh Park Elementary School will be at this week’s Oswego Farmers’ Market as they attempt to assist Oswego Oncology and the Galisano Children’s Hospital. Their goal is to raise $1,000. In the front row are Maddie Malone, Riley Randall, Nicole Anthony, Gracie Hoffman, Kaylyne Westberry and Maddy Graham while in back are Miss Kearns, Karsyn Mahaney, Hannah Holland, Val Whitford, Alyssa Searor and Mrs. Haessig.

FPS ‘Crafting for a Cure’ at Farmers’ Market This Thursday Evening

Sixth graders Alyssa Searor and Maddy Graham wanted to do something for a good cause and both enjoyed crafting. Alyssa said, “I was making lots of loom bracelets and Mrs. Haessig thought it might be a way of helping others.” Meanwhile, Maddy noted, “We thought it would be nice to have a fundraiser for Oswego Oncology and the Galisano Children’s Hospital and we are doing that through making crafts.”
