On October 28, Women’s Network for Entrepreneurial Training and SUNY Oswego’s Office of Business and Community Relations will gather women from across New York State for Connections, a conference to be held at River Vista Center in Fulton from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Joanne Lenweaver, director of the WISE Women’s Business Center, will present “Get Inspired, Get It Done.”
Binghamton University students receive academic honors for making the Dean’s List for the spring 2014 semester.
The sessions will take place at two locations, SUNY Oswego Phoenix Center in the Oswego County Industrial Park in Phoenix and SUNY Oswego Metro Center in downtown Syracuse.
The following students have been named to the dean’s list at Le Moyne College for the spring 2014 semester:
Four Oswego County college students interested in environmental science careers are working with the New York Sea Grant Launch Steward program this summer to educate boaters about preventing the spread of aquatic invasive species. They are demonstrating watercraft inspection at sites along the Lake Ontario shoreline from Sodus Bay to Henderson, the Oswego River, Little Salmon River, Salmon River, Sandy Creek, Stony Creek, and Oneida Lake from Bridgeport to Brewerton.
At a recent Fulton Sunrise Rotary meeting, President Dennis Goss introduced his wife, Brea. Brea surprised and impressed everyone with a heartwarming story of her long journey and commitment to get healthy.

The area around Trujillo, Honduras, is being promoted as the Banana Coast which is much more marketable than the area just to the east called The Mosquito Coast. However, the name “mosquito’ refers to the Native Americans who lived in the area not the insect of which there are many. Trujillo is an interesting place. It is where Christopher Columbus first stepped foot on the mainland of the Americas and where O. Henry hid out while a fugitive from justice.
Deb Glisson, District Governor of Rotary District 7150, covering the six counties in Central New York, made her annual visit to the Fulton Noon Rotary Club recently. District Governor Glisson was greeted by club president Lori Greeney.
