Oswego County Opportunities Crisis and Development Services will hold a craft and vendor fair on September 6 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the American Legion in Oswego. The Oswego County Legislature’s Economic Development and Planning Committee presented a certificate of recognition to students from Pulaski High School as the winning team of the 2014 Oswego County Envirothon. This high school competition tests students’ knowledge of natural resources with hands-on exercises in aquatics, environmental issues, forestry, soils, and wildlife as well as an oral presentation.
Oswego Rotary hosted Robert Schell at a recent meeting. He continued a talk about Edward Austin Sheldon’s early life experiences and how he came to establish and teach in the ‘Ragged School.’ Sheldon saw it as his mission to try to improve the lot of more than 100 extremely poor, mostly immigrant children in Oswego.
