The 2014 calendar year continues to wind down as anticipation and excitement is already building towards Oswego Speedway’s 65th anniversary season, set to kick off on May 9 of 2015. An increasing number of Speedway partner renewals continue to make their way to the ‘Steel Palace’ offices, located on the Albany Street hill in Oswego.
Emma Rowley Walsh, 90, of Fulton, passed away Wednesday November 12, 2014, at The Manor at Seneca Hill, Oswego, NY.
Fulton Junior High School participated in Red Ribbon week from October 27 to 31. This campaign focused on students pledging to remain drug free. The 25 students who won the Red Ribbon Drug Free Poster Contest received water bottles, mini basketballs and Frisbees for their efforts.

Oswego County has two social workers providing service to all of Oswego County Health Department programs, including Hospice. As one of these social workers, I often hear, “I don’t know how you do what you do working with people like that.” People like that meaning clients who know they are dying as well as their families. What so many do not realize is that Hospice is not about dying.
SUNY Oswego music faculty vocalists will harmonize in a Focus on Faculty series concert featuring songs of romantic masters Franz Schubert and Robert Schumann at 3 p.m. Nov. 23, in Sheldon Hall ballroom. Tenor Todd Graber and soprano Mihoko Tsutsumi, with piano accompanist Juan La Manna, also of the college’s music faculty, will perform selected songs of Austrian composer Schubert and two song cycles by Schumann, a German romantic composer.
Oswego Health will have convenient holiday hours at both its urgent care locations on both Thanksgiving and Christmas. The Central Square Urgent Care Center, located at 3045 East Ave., in Central Square, will be open both holidays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Oswego Hospital’s emergency department will remain open during its normal, 24-hours a day, on both holidays.
