Architects working with SUNY Oswego on the 2011-13 exterior renewal of century-old Sheldon Hall recently earned a top design award for historic preservation from the American Institute of Architects New York State. The Sheldon Hall exterior renewal project put the college’s Old Main, which opened in 1913, on course for its next 100 years.

Meteorologist Gives Granby Students Early Dose Of Winter

Although there has not been a major snowstorm to hit Oswego County yet this school year, students in Joe McNamara’s sixth grade class at Granby Elementary School have already gotten a heavy dose of lake effect flurries. TV meteorologist Jim Teske stopped by the school recently to teach the children about lake effect snow and the factors that come into play to produce major storms.

Oswego Speedway Set To Participate In 15th Annual Trinity Catholic School Spelling Bee

Two teams from Oswego Speedway will be competing in the 15th annual Trinity Catholic School Spelling Bee on Friday at 7 p.m. at the American Foundry, 246 W. Seneca St. Tickets for the spelling bee are available for $10, which includes hors d’oeuvres, and desserts. A cash bar is available.
