The New York State Art Teachers Association, in partnership with the New York State United Teachers, is holding its 25th Annual Legislative Student Art Exhibit March 2, 2015. The exhibit will be on display in Albany at the “Well” in the Legislative Office Building.

Area residents unable to view SUNY Oswego’s Dec. 13 commencement ceremony live, or who would like to view them again, may catch rebroadcasts throughout the following week on Time Warner Cable.

Masked Man Reportedly Robs Phoenix Pharmacy
Village and area police are still looking for a man who reportedly robbed narcotics from Phoenix’s drug store at gunpoint on Tuesday. The armed man was caught on surveillance camera as he walked into The Medicine Place on Route 57 in downtown Phoenix at approximately 4:40 p.m. where he allegedly stole drugs, but no cash.

The Syrell Racing No. 68 Novelis Supermodified driven by 2014 Turning Stone Resort Casino Favorite Driver Michael Barnes will be appearing Thursday at the Oswego County BOCES 10th grade orientation on behalf of the Advanced Metal Manufacturing class, formerly known as Motorsports Fabrication.

The Wizard of Oz is set to debut on CNY Arts Center’s new stage at the River Glen Plaza, CCC campus in Fulton. The production runs one weekend only, December 12-14 with evening and matinee performances.

‘Remarkable’ year of grain and steel boosts Seaway season
According to the St. Lawrence Seaway, total cargo shipments reached 34.6 million metric tons for the period from March 25 to November 30 — up 5 percent over the same period last year. Seaway management expect the season will close ahead of last year by a similar margin.
