On Sunday (March 29), Fulton Police charged Robert H. Kimball III with two counts of burglary in the second degree, grand larceny in the fourth degree and two counts of petit larceny. The charges stem from several investigations conducted in early March.
An estimated more than 300 people, young and old, subjected themselves to the “Ultimate Polar Shower.” “This really says a lot about our community,” the mayor said. “It’s like 15 degrees and the windchill is even colder and all these people have come out to help support Special Olympics. This is really a great turnout for a great cause!” Due to the hard-packed snow and ice in the harbor – the ‘plunge’ was re-invented as The Ultimate Polar Shower.
Firefighters were call to a fire under the front porch of 717 Emery Street, Saturday evening (March 28). When unit arrived on the scene flames were visible. The fire was quickly extinguished.
Story Hour, Sustainable Art and Rice Creek Rambles programs at 11 a.m. on selected Saturdays will celebrate spring at SUNY Oswego’s Rice Creek Field Station. Rice Creek will accept registrations through early June for two summer programs: Exploring Nature for children and Conservation Field Studies for teens.

The date represents a change from the original for this event in the schedule for Focus on Faculty, a series presented by the SUNY Oswego music department.
Hannibal High School’s drama club, Purple Gallery, will present “Cooking Can Be Murder” by Eddie McPherson on April 15 and 16 at 7 p.m. in the Lockwood Auditorium. This parody murder mystery is a silly comedy filled with puns, gags and ridiculous situations.
The Oswego County Legislature’s Infrastructure, Facilities and Technology Committee congratulated Central Services Director Richard Hogan for his 40 years of service to county government. Hogan is responsible for overseeing the county computer systems, phone systems, computer servers and programs.
Margaret A. Focarino, now commissioner of patents at the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, is to receive an honorary doctor of science degree at the college’s spring commencement May 16. An honorary doctor of humane letters degree will be bestowed on Louis A. Borrelli Jr. at Oswego’s winter commencement at 10 a.m. Dec. 12 in the Marano Campus Center arena and convocation hall.
Lorraine “Lori” Woodworth, 64, of Fulton, passed away on Friday March 27, 2015, at her home surrounded by her family after a long illness.
Oswego Health employees dressed in blue on March 6 to show their support of National Wear Blue Day, which brings awareness to the importance of colon cancer and its detection. Oswego Health Gastroenterologist Bishnu Sapkota said the best prevention against colon cancer is a colonoscopy.
