The Oswego County Health department offers a variety of services to all residents of Oswego County, including preventive health services, certified home health care, certified hospice, and a maternal and child health program.

GENIUS Olympiad Boosts Entries, Adds Business Competition
GENIUS Olympiad, SUNY Oswego’s global high school competition for environmental innovation and advocacy, has drawn 39 percent more entries than last year, and for the first time has invited projects in entrepreneurship and business social responsibility for the June 15 to 19 event. Judges chose as finalists 401 of the 1,171 project entries in science, art, creative writing, music, design and business submitted by students from 69 countries and 34 states.

Dave Jacke, a consultant and primary author of “Edible Forest Gardens: The Ecology and Design of Home Scale Food Forests,” will speak May 1, lead an all-day workshop May 2 and conduct an open consultation about the design of the three-fourths-acre permaculture site on May 3.

Oswego Expeditions Offers Free Shuttle Transportation from Oswego
Oswego Expeditions will offer free shuttle service from Oswego to the Oswego County Tourism Ambassador training program in Altmar on May 4. The training begins at 9:30 a.m. at the Tailwater Lodge and concludes at the Kallet Theater in Pulaski. Shuttle passengers will arrive back in Oswego at approximately 5 p.m.
NY Sea Grant Offers Clean and Safe Boating Tips for 2015
The 10-foot inflatable boat that is the NY Sea Grant Discover Clean & Safe Boating educational vessel for 2015 may be a small boat, but it carries a big message. It’s equipped with a propane engine and traveling to boat shows, events, and venues throughout Upstate New York educating the public about the equipment needed and mandated for safe, environmentally-friendly, and legal boating on the recreational waters of New York.
Math and Literacy Night Held at Riley Elementary
Math and Literacy Night provided students and teachers with a variety of games, activities, lessons, tips and more, according to Riley Elementary School Principal Dr. Linda Doty. The theme of the event was “The Riley Café Serving up Math and Literacy.”
