March 2015 was another cold month with below average precipitation and snowfall, according to Bill Gregway, local observer for the National Weather Service. The average temperature last month was 5.1 degrees below average. Precipitation was 1.94 inches below average, and snowfall was 9.3 inches below average.
A circus wave — the English meaning of Vague de Cirque — strikes the shore of Lake Ontario when eight versatile international acrobats perform in a heated yellow tent on the SUNY Oswego campus with 7:30 p.m. shows Wednesday through Friday, April 15 to 17, and at 2 p.m. April 18. Quebec-based Vague de Cirque is the creation of Alain Boudreaux and Noemie Gervais, two accomplished alums of Cirque du Soleil and Cirque Eloize with their own vision for the popular art form.

The greater Fulton community is invited to meet city and county elected leaders at the First United Church of Fulton, 33 S. Third St., on April 16 starting at 7 p.m. Elected leaders will include Fulton Mayor Ron Woodward, several of Fulton’s ward counselors and Oswego County legislators. The Oswego State men’s lacrosse team is raising money for the St. Baldrick’s Foundation, an international organization dedicated to funding research to find cures for childhood cancers. With 18 Oswego players, an assistant coach and the head coach all registered as to get their heads shaved, the 20-member fundraising team is currently the largest of the 30 teams signed up for this year’s annual St. Baldrick’s Day in Oswego.
Students and their family members could peer into a microscope, view film X-rays and make their own first aid kit to take home during Fairley Elementary School’s healthy family night.

NRG Oswego Harbor Power, LLC, is showing its support to help provide crisis services throughout Oswego County this year as a “Building Dreams” sponsor of a major fund-raising event. 200 bowlers will be rounded up on April 18 to mosey on over to the “Rodeo Bowl.”
State Street United Methodist Church will host a chicken BBQ and bake sale on April 19. Proceeds to benefit the roof fund.
Nearly 150 elementary school students and their parents participated in the event. Families showcased their creativity as they colored characters from Dr. Seuss books, made hats, participated in a reader’s theater and assembled puzzles.
