Dale Currier, director of the Oswego County Emergency Management Office, has announced that the system of emergency notification sirens surrounding the three nuclear power plants at Nine Mile Point are scheduled to be tested May 4 through 8, between 4 and 8 p.m.
SUNY Oswego’s Rice Creek Field Station has added two free public Rice Creek Reflections, on May 2 and June 27, to its busy spring roster of Saturday events, according to community support group Rice Creek Associates.
All divisions competing at Oswego Speedway in 2015 including the Race of Champions Asphalt Modifies Series, the International Supermodified Association, the NEMA Midgets, ATQMRA TQ Midgets and of course the Novelis Supermodifieds and Pathfinder Bank Small Block Supers are welcome to participate in the four-hour long open test session.
Hosted by the Friends of Camp Hollis, a not-for-profit support group for the children’s camp, the event is a great opportunity for parents and children to visit the site, ask questions, meet camp staff, and experience a taste of the camping environment. Registration forms, scholarship applications, and parent handbooks will be available for parents and families to take and fill out.
Oswego Health recognized its many volunteers and members of the Auxiliary for the donation of their time and talents to the health system during a luncheon held during National Volunteer Week.
