This summer Dr. Graham Bradley of the SUNY Oswego Department of Atmospheric and Geological Sciences and student-researcher Jeremy Fontaine will try to rediscover the former locations of two historic forts in Oswego. They are collecting data at 18th century Fort George on the west side, and the 19th century support buildings at Fort Ontario.

Oswego Health will once again lead off the Harborfest Children’s Parade and offer an afternoon of fun activities for children at Franklin Square on July 24. The parade begins at Breitbeck Park at 1:30 p.m. and proceeds along West Fifth Street to Franklin Square/West Park.
Due to spawning season, state law requires no dredging be completed until the season is over. With the end of spawning season July 17, Mayor Ronald Woodward announced at a recent council meeting they hope to start dredging as soon as possible.
The Kids and Trucks event, sponsored by the Friends of Camp Hollis, is a family event which features all sorts of construction vehicles, firetrucks, tow trucks, race cars and other big rigs for children to climb on and see up close and personal.
Local writer and artist Lisa R. Davis recently released her newest book, Fairies in Summer. This book is the third in a series, following Fairies in my Flowerbeds and Fairies in Spring Flowers. Each is an illustrated, rhyming poetry book of fairies made visible by wearing clothes made from flowers.

At a recent Fulton Sunrise Rotary meeting, Silvia Langdon was inducted as the newest member of the club. She is retired from Oswego County Department of Social Services Employment and Training.
