Jimmie James BBQ will provide the next Salvation Army Guest Chef dinner on November 3, from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m.
They will be serving ¼ barbequed chicken, coleslaw, salt potatoes, and corn bread. Members of the advisory board will provide desserts and beverages.
The H. Lee White Maritime Museum on West First Street Pier in Oswego hosted “Cloning Neptune: Recreating a Masterpiece” with aerospace and multi-media artist Don Gillespie this past summer. The project celebrated Oswego’s rich art heritage through classes, live painting demonstrations, multi-media presentations and a community arts show.

At a public hearing held October 20, the Fulton City Council announced the winning bid in the demolition of the former Nestles property. Infinity Enterprises submitted the winning bid, offering to do all the demolition work for no cost to the city, only salvage rights to everything on the property
In a recent letter entitled “In His Own Words,” Louella LeClair questioned the use of truthful statements made by a friend of mine and your current Oswego County Legislator. LeClair claims to have lowered taxes every year she was in office. Really! Fact is at the start of her tenure the county taxes to a resident in the city of Fulton were 3.44 per thousand…at the end of her tenure that rate was 7.56 per thousand.
“The effectiveness of our laws to protect animals from mistreatment and abuse depend on how knowledgeable and well-trained members of our law enforcement are,” said Senator Ritchie.

The Half-Shire Historical Society 43rd anniversary dinner dance was held on October 24, at our Richland headquarters. More than 100 people enjoyed a dinner of London broil, herbed potatoes, baked ziti, vegetables and salad. At 7 p.m., the renowned local band “Still Kickin” set up through our new stage door, and regaled the crowd to some great country music past 11 p.m.
