Students exceeded expectations of being safe, responsible, a problem solver and respectful in their classrooms at Fairgrieve Elementary School. Several students were recognized during a recent Morning Express program for exhibiting those classroom expectations throughout the month of February.
Assemblyman Will Barclay recently met with organizers from Blessings in a Backpack. Blessings in a Backpack is a national organization whose mission is to help end childhood hunger. Each week, shelf stable, easy to prepare food is sent home to students that are on the free or reduced lunch program. The third annual Blessings in a Backpack Blast Hunger fundraising event is gearing up to be the best yet.
The Pulaski Historical Society announces its spring hours and a special new exhibit for visitors. “The Five Village Churches of the 19th Century” will be on display from March 12 through April 16 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., in the Carriage House.
Students in Lynne Field’s first grade class wore Thing 1 and Thing 2 blue construction paper hair and paper plate name tags. Students in both Beth Hudson’s and Becky Crisafulli’s first grade classrooms wore paper Cat in the Hat red and white hats.
Filmmaker Sam Green will bring his “live documentary” project “The Love Song of R. Buckminster Fuller” to SUNY Oswego’s Hewitt ballroom at 7:30 p.m. March 16, with an original score performed onstage by the indie rock band Yo La Tengo. The multimedia event traces the life and career of the noted 20th-century futurist, architect, engineer and inventor.
