Students snorkel to class to investigate damage to coral reefs off San Salvador in the Bahamas, the travel part of a geology course that followed eight weeks of coursework at their respective schools, SUNY Oswego and Hobart and William Smith Colleges. Five study-then-travel courses at SUNY Oswego sent students to the Bahamas, Benin, Cuba, Ecuador and India this winter. SUNY Oswego has 11 such offerings scheduled this spring.

Rotarian Colin Hogan introduced Jim Farfaglia, who talked about his book “Blizzard of ‘66” at a recent meeting. He recounted many wonderful stories that he learned while writing the book. It took him about 1 ½ years of research to finish it.
