Phoenix Students Earn President’s Youth Service Awards
Student volunteerism, citizenship and community spirit were celebrated during the annual President’s Youth Service Awards ceremony held in the John C. Birdlebough High School cafeteria. The event honored 29 Phoenix Central School District students who combined for more than 12,000 of community service.

Novelis to Present 55th Season of Supermodified Racing at Oswego; Opening Night Lineup Taking Shape for May 14
When the green flag drops on Oswego Speedway’s 66th consecutive racing season on May 14, the Novelis Supermodifieds will embark on their 55th consecutive campaign as the Speedway’s headline division. Since 1962 Oswego Speedway has been the Home of the Supermodifieds with Novelis presenting Oswego’s unique brand of racing every week since 2005.

Waterfront Open House Scheduled
The H. Lee White Maritime Museum is proud to present the annual “Waterfront Open House” to be held along the west pier in the Historic Maritime District on May 21 from 11 a.m. – 4 p.m. The main purpose of this event is to help kickoff National Safe Boating Week and to promote safe activities on Oswego’s waterfront.

Tour Commemorates Soldiers Lost in British Attack on May 5, 1814
Superintendent Paul Lear will lead a walking tour of the 1814 Battle of Oswego at Fort Ontario State Historic Site at 7 p.m. May 5. Lear will incorporate new information and insights into the battle gained from his research at the National Archives and other sources. The battlefield walking tour will begin inside the old stone fort and proceed at a slow pace.
