Leadership Oswego County Youth (LOCY) is accepting applications for its 18th year of youth leadership training experience. The program is open to all high school students in Oswego County. Preference is given to those entering their freshman or sophomore year who have shown leadership potential and a desire to learn.
The Oswego County Legislature’s Economic Development and Planning Committee presented a proclamation designating June as Dairy Month at its monthly meeting. Dairy farming is an important part of a healthy food economy.

Oswego Speedway’s Novelis Supermodified Twin 35s have produced several first time winners through the years including last season and last night (June 18) the streak continued as second generation Supermodified pilot Jeff Abold finally broke the ice to score his first Oswego Supermodified victory in the second twin event of the night presented by Burke’s Do-It-Best Home Centers and A&P Auto Parts, driving his home built racer.
The term “Instant Classic” gets thrown around a lot in sports, deserved or not. Saturday night at Fulton Speedway in the 35 lap Tracey Road Equipment DIRTcar Modified feature “Instant Classic” was more than deserved when there were four unofficial lead changes in the last two laps and the top three of Larry Wight, Max McLaughlin and Chuck Bower were only separated by .913 of a second at the finish after a drag race off of turn four to the checkers.
Bring the whole family to Oswego to celebrate Independence Day and the county’s bicentennial. The Oswego Stamp Club kicks things off on July 2 with an official postal imprint ceremony and reception to mark the 200th anniversary of Oswego County. The Oswego County Bicentennial celebration continues on July 3 with the Oswego Independence Day Parade from 1 to 3:30 p.m.
Robert J. Keeler, 64, a resident of Scriba, passed away at his home on Tuesday May 10, 2016.
Charles A. Hopkins, 92, passed away December 25, 2015, at his home in Scriba, NY, surrounded by his family.
