SUNY Oswego launched an expanded math bridge camp in August for first-year students in STEM majors. Supported by a SUNY grant for its potential as a template for other colleges and universities, the week-long camp is a key strategy in the college’s retention efforts in science, technology, engineering and in mathematics itself.

Ashley Cummins, a senior at University of Albany, recently completed a summer internship at Assemblyman Will Barclay’s office. She is a dual major in criminal justice and psychology and is from Fulton.

Prospective Traffic Safety Champions can be anyone who makes safety a priority in child passenger safety, or while driving, walking or biking and serves their community in spreading the safety message in a volunteer or paid capacity.

Members of the United Way of Greater Oswego County’s Campaign Cabinet are preparing the agenda for one of Oswego County’s most impactful events, the United Way’s Annual Campaign Kick Off Breakfast. Scheduled for September 7, the event will be held from 8 – 9 a.m. at the American Foundry.

At a recent Sunrise Rotary meeting, Rotarian Linda Eagan introduced Cynthia Jerred, owner of Artistree Workshops. Jerred provides a variety of workshops out of her home, offering mixed media, artwork and arts and crafts.
