With most eyes focused throughout 2016 on championship combatants Dave Gruel, Michael Barnes and Otto Sitterly – third generation racer Mike Muldoon has quietly climbed into the third position of the Novelis Supermodified driver standings heading into this Saturday’s $5 admission track championship finale presented by Bosco’s Food Market and U-Pull U-Save Auto Parts.

The annual running of the Justin Lamb Memorial this Friday at Oswego Kartway will officially crown the Bullring’s 2016 track champions, as the regular season comes to a close. Drivers in 14 different divisions will clinch track championship titles on Friday night, with several classes coming down to the bitter end in their race for a coveted Kartway championship jacket.
Assemblyman Will Barclay reminded kids who participated in this year’s Assembly Summer Reading Challenge to send in their completed calendars. Barclay said students who read at least 15 minutes per day for 40 days throughout July and August, and send in their completed reading challenges to the office will receive an Assembly Certificate. Kids will also be invited to a Summer Reading Challenge party which will be held in the fall.

Community members, families, and student athletes of all ages are invited to sport their Buc blue attire and walk or run in the inaugural “Go Bucs 5k” on October 1. The event will begin at 9 a.m. at Oswego High School with a finish leading into the annual Homecoming Weekend’s BucFest organized by the Oswego Buc Boosters.
