Several students at Volney Elementary School were recently recognized as classroom role models for showing respect to their peers and teachers throughout the month of September. For their efforts, those students received a Principal’s Award and a “brag tag” to add to their collection.
The Soul Searchers of Central New York are bringing its supernatural detection equipment to Fulton. You’re invited to follow the footsteps through time and try out some of the group’s equipment.
On October 7, all students of the Fulton City School District Pre-K through 12 will not be in attendance. Staff in grades Pre-K through 12 will spend the day meeting NYSED mandates around the Dignity for All Students Act and Right to Know.
Snickers is a pretty muted calico tortie with an impish personality. She’ll play with people, just not “up close.” So, laser pointers and fishing pole type toys are her favorites. She happily sleeps with the other cats in her foster home and plays with them, too.

Port City Toastmasters Club will hold an open house on Tuesday, October 4 at 7 p.m. at the Newman Center on New Street in Oswego.
Scheduled for October 12 and 13 from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. each day the bazaar will be held in the hospital lobby at 110 W. Sixth St. A Harvest Dinner featuring turkey and all the fixings will be served in the hospital cafeteria each day from 5 to 7 p.m.
On October 1, a tobacco-free policy took effect that will begin improving the health of residents using William J. Farley Jr. Community Park. The town of Schroeppel recognizes that tobacco use in proximity of children, youth and adults engaging in or watching recreational activities is unhealthy and detrimental to the health of others.
Computer science faculty member Jolanda Tromp said Crytek’s VR First academic initiative has provided impetus for establishing the college’s first dedicated virtual reality lab in Shineman Center, as well as providing five state-of-the-art VR headsets and the company’s CryEngine platform for software development.
