The second Tuesday of November not only brings Election Day but also the return of the Election Day Dinner at The United Baptist Church of Scriba. An external auditor recently summarized the Fulton City School District audit findings which were then relayed to the Board of Education at Tuesday’s (Oct 25) regular meeting. The audit showed that the revenues of the district exceeded the expenditures for the 2015-16 school budget, resulting in an operational surplus just over $518,000 allowing school officials to replenish district’s reserves and fund balances.
G. Ray Bodley High School student Ethan Wright has been named a Commended Student in the 2017 National Merit Scholarship Program. He was recognized for his outstanding academic promise demonstrated by a top performance on the 2015 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test.
Several Fairgrieve Elementary School students were recently named Golden Spoon Award recipients because they exceeded expectations in the school cafeteria. Principal Jean Sampsell recognized the students during a Morning Express program, where their peers, teachers and guests applauded their efforts.
