Countertenor Reginald Mobley’s Feb. 8 Concert To Offer Rich Selection Of Works

Accomplished countertenor Reginald Mobley will perform works of Bach, Handel and other Baroque and Classical greats, as well as songs from Cole Porter and more, in a concert at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 8, in Sheldon Hall ballroom, as part of SUNY Oswego’s Ke-Nekt Chamber Music Series.

Legislature Chairman Gardner Announces Standing Committee Assignments

Oswego County Legislature Chairman Kevin Gardner (District 13, New Haven) announced appointments to the County Legislature’s standing committees for 2017. The seven committees oversee departments of county government and make budgetary and policy recommendations to the full Legislature.

Rabid Raccoon Found in Oswego

The Oswego County Health Department reported today (Jan. 24) that a raccoon has tested positive for rabies in the City of Oswego. This is the third case of rabies confirmed in Oswego County since late December. Two dogs on the west side of Oswego were exposed to the rabid raccoon last week. Both dogs were up-to-date on their rabies vaccines and will require a rabies booster.

Oswego County E-911 director Michael Allen reminds residents that a new 680 area code overlay is being added to the geographic area served by the 315 area code. Because more than one area code will serve the same geographic area, Central New York residents who have a 315 or 680 phone number will need to enter the area code for all calls - including calls within the same area code. The new calling procedure will be required for all calls beginning Feb. 11, 2017.hone

Calling All Residents: Dial the Full 10-Digit Phone Number

Oswego County is reminding residents that a new area code is coming to Central New York. A ‘680’ area code will be assigned to new telephone numbers throughout the region beginning in March. Existing phone numbers with the ‘315’ area code will not change.

Sophie Pinko, 97, passed away on Monday January 23, 2017, at St. Luke Health Services, Oswego.

Fulton Art Association Annual Show, Competition Set

The Fulton Art Association will hold its 44th annual Art Show and Competition on May 20 – 21 in the Community Room of the Fulton Municipal Building. The association is comprised of artists from around the Central New York area. Membership dues of $20 are required for participation.
