One of Central New York’s most anticipated and largest golf tournaments, the United Way’s Annual Golf Tournament will be held July 10. The tournament will once again be hosted by the county’s most prestigious private golf course, the Oswego County Club.
As chair of the Senate Agriculture Committee, I was successful in securing $51 million in overall funding in our newly adopted state budget for New York agriculture. This record investment will support dozens of programs focused on marketing, education and research for agriculture, which will help bolster the more than 35,500 farms in our state, which generate $5.4 billion for the state’s economy.

The wait is over. Oswego Speedway’s annual Open Practice session will be held this Saturday, May 6 from 1-5 p.m., with free admission to the speedway’s main grandstand. All divisions competing at the speedway in 2017 are eligible to take part in the four-hour-long track testing session, which pit gates will open for at 11:30 a.m.
Trouble (with a capital T) is aptly named, but in a good way. He is a handsome young boy, lively, affectionate and totally playful. He likes to head butt his foster mom while he purrs his little heart out. He loves the other cats where he lives and he really needs to go to a home that has other cats for him to play with.
The statewide university system recently honored SUNY Oswego’s Christy Huynh, associate director of career services, and Dr. Richard Kolenda, assistant vice president for residence life and housing, with the 2017 Chancellor’s Award for Excellence in Professional Service.
Oswego County designated April as Sexual Assault Awareness Month to raise awareness about the devastating impact of this issue and the variety of services available to its victims and survivors.
