Health Officials Offer Advice On Capturing Bats In The Home

The Oswego County Health Department is reminding residents of the importance of capturing any bats that may have come in contact with a human or pet. Several people in Oswego County have had to receive post-exposure rabies treatments over the past few months because they may have been exposed to rabies from a bat, and the bat wasn’t available for testing.

St. Stephen’s the King Church Annual Polish Festival Slated

St. Stephen’s Church, Oswego, will hold its annual Polish Festival August 13 on the church grounds, 140 Niagara St., from noon to 6 p.m. rain or shine.

Volunteers have been busy preparing the polish foods from scratch for the festival and they are taking presale orders for pierogi in 3 variety favorites.

CNY Arts Center Puts a Face to Fulton’s Future

The big, shining faces of dozens of Fulton youngsters can be seen plastered on the walls of City Hall, “Fulton’s Future” labeled proudly on a sign held by each. The Fulton’s Future Mural is part of the larger campaign “Fulton’s Future Project” with the mission to build Fulton’s future through the arts, said CNY Arts Center Director Nancy Fox. The mural was a spin-off of the “Inside Out Project” a global campaign helping people turn their message into art. “Our message is that we believe that Fulton’s future is found in our children and it’s very bright and we should never forget that,” Fox said.

Bruce Runs Away With Pathfinder Victory

Pathfinder Bank SBS veteran Mike Bruce has found himself caught in the middle of more bad luck this year than perhaps any other driver at the Oswego Speedway. Last night all of that changed when the driver of the Bruce Racing double deuce picked up his fifth career SBS triumph at the ‘Steel Palace’ after starting in the pole position and holding off good friend Cameron Rowe for victory.
