Local attorney and community volunteer Allison J. Nelson has announced her candidacy for Oswego County Family Court Judge in 2018. A lifelong Oswego County resident, Nelson has been practicing law for nearly 19 years and established Nelson Law Firm in 2011.
In the final minute of Saturday’s (Dec. 9) 75-60 win over Mount St. Mary’s, junior Caleb Sedore walked onto the floor for his collegiate debut. The moment was a long time coming. After suffering a torn ACL as a freshman, then re-tearing the same ACL as a sophomore, his debut was two years in the making.
Oswego Health welcomes psychiatrist Vintee Narang, MD, to its Behavioral Health Services staff. Dr. Narang earned her medical degree from Ross University School of Medicine where she completed her Psychiatry clerkship at Bergen Regional Medical Center, and said she instantly knew psychiatry was the specialty she would pursue as a career field.
Brewerton and Fulton speedways’ exciting 2018 schedules are taking shape with major events at both speedways that will give race fans high-speed racing excitement in must-see events. The 33rd annual Outlaw 200 Weekend, one of the crown jewels in all of modified racing, will be held at Fulton Speedway on September 28 and 29.

Staff and volunteers with Oswego County Opportunities Nutrition Services are checking in with clients in OCO’s Meals on Wheels program throughout the holiday season. For many of the seniors who receive home delivered meals, the person delivering the meal is the only person they have contact with in their home. “Our Holiday Calling initiative is a nice way to keep in touch with our seniors,” said OCO Nutrition Services Coordinator Bridget Dolbear.

As a State Senator with five state correctional facilities in my district, and a member of the Senate Standing Committee on Crime Victims, Crime and Correction, I continue to see that dedication and hard work every day from correctional officers throughout New York State. Ensuring that our state correctional facilities employ hardworking correctional officers is critical to public safety, as well as the safety of our prisons.
