Fundraising Teams Go Head To Head For St. Baldrick’s

With the Sunday, April 15, head-shaving event just a few weeks away, some 21 fundraising teams are busy collecting donations for the St. Baldrick’s Foundation, the world’s largest private (non-government) funder of childhood cancer research. “The teams vary, from one or two members to 30, from young to old, from male to female,” explained volunteer event coordinator Dan Witmer.

SUNY Oswego will partner with WCNY to host a preview of the PBS documentary segment “The Whistle Blower,” followed by an ethics-based faculty panel discussion on Wednesday, April 11. The screening, which starts at 6:15 p.m. in Marano Campus Center auditorium (Room 132), will consist of one of the three 30-minute segments from the PBS film “Playing by the Rules: Ethics at Work.”

First Congregational Church of New Haven Moves Into Its Second Century

The First Congregational Church of New Haven is moving into its second century this year, after celebrating the 200th anniversary of its founding last year. The church is said to be the oldest continuously existing congregation in Oswego County (founded 1817) and has the oldest church building still in use (built in 1827).
