Justice Department Files Sexual Harassment Lawsuit Against Owners and Managers of Oswego Area Rental Properties

The Justice Department announced today that it has filed a lawsuit alleging that Douglas S. Waterbury, a residential property owner and landlord in the Oswego area, subjected female tenants and potential tenants to egregious sexual harassment in violation of the Fair Housing Act. Along with Douglas Waterbury, the Department’s complaint names his wife and business partner, Carol A. Waterbury, and two residential property companies, Ontario Realty Incorporated and E&A Management Co., as defendants.

Fulton Softball Accepting Registration Through April 27

Fulton’s self-sufficient city softball league is approaching the registration deadline to enter a team for the 2018 season. Interested teams must submit a registration form with $280 for an entry fee, ASA sanction fee and forfeit fee to the City Clerk’s office at the Fulton Municipal Building, 141 South First Street by Friday, April 27.

Oswego County Opportunities Services to Aid Families Program has collaborated with business owners at Canal Commons to display its annual Clothesline Project in recognition of National Sexual Assault Awareness Month. The Clothesline Project is part of a national campaign in which those affected by abuse and violence decorate T-Shirts. Each shirt is designed by local victims and survivors to help raise awareness; give a voice to those who have been silenced; and help with the healing process.

Oswego Speedway Offering Harborfest Camping Special July 26-29

Oswego Speedway will offer a special Harborfest camping rate this summer during the four-day festival which will run from July 26 to 29. The ‘flats’ camping lot located at the bottom of the hill on East Albany Street will be made available for any campers at a rate of $100 for four days which includes full utilities throughout the week.
