SUNY Oswego chemistry faculty member Dr. Vadoud Niri recently was named recipient of the 2018 Provost’s Award for Mentoring in Scholarly and Creative Activity.
The Oswego Players’ second production of its 80th anniversary season, “An Act of God,” will feature the satirical comedy of award winning writer David Javerbaum. Javerbaum was hired as a staff writer with The Daily Show with Jon Stewart in 1999.
The “best summer ever” is right around the corner and the Oswego YMCA summer camp is offering day camp to make sure kids and youth in Oswego are adventurous, active and healthy this summer. YMCA camp programs offer youth fun and unique experiences with an opportunity to explore the outdoors, meet new friends, discover new interests and create memories that last a lifetime.

Aundray Davis of Oswego will be recognized at Buffalo State’s annual Arthur O. Eve Educational Opportunity Program (EOP) Honors Convocation. Davis is among the students who achieved a 3.0 GPA during the spring or fall 2017 semester, or who has a a cumulative 3.0 GPA for the calendar year.
Student-athletes recognized at the annual Chi Alpha Sigma National Honor Society ceremony on April 18 earned a varsity letter in at least one sport while maintaining a 3.4 or higher cumulative GPA throughout their junior and senior year.
Julian William Carvey was born in Oswego Hospital on April 24, 2018, at 10:19 p.m.
Marking its 25th anniversary year, the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum opened a new special exhibition, Americans and the Holocaust. It examines the motives, pressures and fears that shaped Americans’ responses to Nazism, war and the persecution and murder of Jews in Europe during the 1930s and ‘40s. Oswego, New York, is featured as part of the exhibition. A section of the fence was removed, treated, conserved, packaged and shipped to the curators at the U.S. Memorial Museum of the Holocaust in Washington DC.
