Oswego City Police Department’s K9 Crixus Gets Donation Of Body Armor

The Oswego City Police Department’s K9, Crixus, will receive a bullet and stab protective vest thanks to a charitable donation from non-profit organization Vested Interest in K9s, Inc. K9 Crixus’ vest is sponsored by Staten Island Companion Dog Training Club and will be embroidered with the sentiment “Gifted by SICDTC, Staten Island, NY.” Delivery is expected within eight to 10 weeks.

Mars To Shine In Public Viewing Party July 24-31 At Rice Creek Observatory

SUNY Oswego will host a free public Mars Viewing Party, planned nightly though weather-dependent, from 10 p.m. to 2 a.m. July 24 to 31 at the college’s observatory at Rice Creek Field Station. Astronomers of all ages can get a closer view of Jupiter, Saturn and, at the center of attention, Mars in Opposition.
