Councilor Hill Proposes Social Host Law to Assist OPD in Efforts to Improve Quality of Life for City Residents

Earlier this week, Third Ward Councilor Kevin Hill requested a briefing by Oswego Police and SUNY Oswego Police on strategies currently being employed to address disruption and disorder in city neighborhoods. Councilor Hill took the opportunity to point to several issues that he has become aware of through constituent communication and personal observation, as well as identifying specific locations that generate concern from area residents, for special attention by law enforcement in the coming weeks. The Camping World 150 on Saturday, October 6 is one of the most coveted titles in the 358 Modified ranks. $20,000 is up for grabs at NAPA Auto Parts Super DIRT Week for the first-place finishing DIRTcar 358 Modified driver.

Drivers from all across the Northeast and Canada will polish their weekly racers into shape for the 150-lap feature race in hopes of capturing attention and, ultimately, the win in 2018. […]

Student-athletes again plan to rake leaves for senior citizens within the city of Oswego on Nov. 4. Hundreds of SUNY Oswego student-athletes are ready to rake leaves in the city of Oswego on Sunday, Nov. 4 — and they want to hear from senior citizens interested in this free assistance. In its 14th year at SUNY Oswego, the project is part of an annual statewide community service project by Student-Athlete Advisory Council chapters at some SUNY Athletic Conference colleges. […]

Return to Oz, Homecoming Weekend Set At College

SUNY Oswego hosts two big events in mid-October: Return to Oz V — a reunion for alumni of color — Oct. 12 to 14, with the college’s annual Homecoming unfolding Oct. 13. The reunion, which takes place every five years, will include a Friday evening get-together, plus a Saturday networking fair, EOP Alumni Reception and the Return to Oz Celebration Dinner, among other events.
