Bakers around SUNY Oswego’s campus turned out for the recent 2018 State Employees Federated Appeal/United Way Bake Off. Three emerged as the top vote-getters among staff, faculty and students who taste-tested the competitors’ treats.

During a recent school assembly, select Granby students invited their own special veteran guests to be recognized for their service and accomplishments.

The Center for Instruction, Technology and Innovation recently hosted the first-ever Oswego County Weekend Backpack Program Summit. It was a collaboration between CiTi, all nine Oswego County school districts, the Food Bank of CNY, United Way of Greater Oswego County, Inc. and the Richard S. Shineman Foundation.

Phoenix Central School District student musicians recently showcased their talents during two All-State festivals.

The community is invited to an open skate with the Oswego State men’s and women’s hockey teams for Holiday Skate with the Lakers, 1 to 3 p.m. Dec. 9, in Marano Campus Center arena to benefit the local United Way. The annual event will feature holiday music, a visit by Santa Claus, a hockey jersey raffle and concessions provided by Auxiliary Services. Laker hockey players will skate with participants and provide autographs.

The Salvation Army has announced that Majors Ivan and Christine Rock have taken their newly appointed post as the divisional commanders of the Empire State Division.
