Letter to Families – See Something Say Something

Good evening APW families,

It was brought to my attention that two .22-caliber bullets were found in the JSHS and
immediately reported to staff, who followed protocol and investigated the situation. It
was determined that there was no foul play or intent to harm anyone, and no threats
were made that would indicate otherwise.

We are grateful to our partners in law enforcement for their swift response and
subsequent investigation. We must continue working together as a school community to
ensure we maintain the safest possible learning environment for our children.

As a reminder, please tell your children that if they are target practicing, they should
empty their pockets of ammunition and store it in a locked safe at home. If a student
accidentally arrives on campus with ammunition, they are required to bring it to the
office to have a parent pick it up.

If anyone has any information, please let a staff member or administrator know. We will
continue to investigate this and will share if there is any new information to report. As
always, if you see something, say something. We appreciate your cooperation in this
matter.

Sincerely,
Dr. Naomi Ryfun
Superintendent of Schools
