Edward S. Bernys, 42

Edward S. Bernys, 42, a resident of 42 West Eighth St., Oswego, passed away, Saturday, June 5th, 2010 in Saratoga, NY.

Born in Oswego, he was the son of Edward L. and Joan (Pimlott) Bernys.

Ed was employed as the business manager of Behavioral Services with Oswego Hospital. He had been employed with the Oswego Hospital for over 20 years.

Ed received the state award for his electronic consolidation of medical records at the Oswego Hospital Behavioral Services Division. He was an associate member of the Ancient Order of Hibernians.

Surviving besides his parents, is his wife Theresa “Terri” (Amedio) Bernys of Oswego; a daughter, Madeline Bernys of Oswego; two brothers, William (Julie) Bernys of Cleveland, Ohio and James (Amy Hall) Bernys of Oswego; two sisters, Barbara (David) Landes of Mt. Holly, North Carolina and Rebecca (Kate Drake) Bernys of Liverpool; his father and mother-in-law, Sam and Phyllis Amedio; Several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be held 1pm, Wednesday at the Grace Lutheran Church, Oswego.

Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery.

Calling hours will be held 3-7 pm at the Nelson Funeral Home, 11 W. Albany St., Oswego.

  1. I didn’t know your family member, but here in Oswego, I am sure I would recognize his face. You have my condolences. As someone who has frequented SPAC events for over 40 years, I know where it was you suffered your loss. My heart stopped when I heard onYNN it was someone from Oswego. I am so sorry, and I pray for your family.

  3. This is so sad. I had a great deal of respect for Ed as he was so pleasant to work with and so professional. Ed did so much for me, the IS Department, Behavorial Services and the hospital as whole while I was the CIO at Oswego. He will surely be missed. Lucy and I are praying for the family in their time of loss.
