OSWEGO, NY – On January 9, the Oswego City Police Department’s Anti-Crime Team, with the assistance of the Oswego County Drug Task Force and New York State Police Contaminated Crime Scene Emergency Response Team, executed a search warrant at 116 E. Eleventh St. Apartment #2, Oswego.
The search warrant was issued as a result of an investigation into the alleged production of methamphetamine at that location, police said.
Items used to produce methamphetamine, including lab equipment and associated chemicals, were allegedly located and the following person was arrested and criminally charged:
Keith R. Smith, 45, of 866 County Route 30, Altmar, was charged with Unlawful Manufacture of Methamphetamine in the Third Degree, Class D Felony.
Smith was arraigned in Oswego City Court where he was remanded to the Oswego County Correctional Facility in lieu of $10,000 cash or $20,000 bail bond.
Smith is scheduled to return to Oswego City Court on January 20 at 9:30 a.m.
In August of 2013, Smith was arrested and charged by the Oswego City Police Department’s Anti-Crime Team for Unlawful Manufacture of Methamphetamine 3rd degree and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 2nd degree, police said.
He was ultimately sentenced to a term of incarceration in the NYS prison system.
Smith was released on parole in December of 2014.
Also assisting at the scene was the Oswego City Fire Department.
