SYRACUSE, NY – As a follow-up to its overflowing waiting list at the recent Get Health Connected health fair at the OnCenter, Aurora of CNY is offering more free vision screenings at its office in Syracuse.
Vision screening is a non-medical test that evaluates a person’s visual acuity and checks for color-blindness, field-of-vision defects and other conditions. If the screening reveals a possible problem, a visit to a physician is recommended.
Screenings will be held on Oct. 18 from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. and on Oct. 19 from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. Each screening will take approximately 15 minutes; appointments can be scheduled by calling Aurora at 422-7263.
Aurora is located at 518 James Street in Syracuse.
“We expect that these times will fill up quickly,” said Anne Costa, Aurora’s assistant director. “We had a huge response at the OnCenter.”
Aurora, the only non-profit that works exclusively with people in Central New York who are deaf, blind, visually impaired or hard of hearing, is a United Way agency of Central New York and Oswego and Cayuga counties.
