The Oswego City School District will soon implement a new and comprehensive district security management system and is urging community members to familiarize themselves with the new policies to help keep all students safe at all times. On May 7, all OCSD schools will begin using the Raptor Visitor Management System to control visitor intake and strengthen campus safety for students and faculty.

As we continue to battle the heroin and opioid epidemic here in Central and Northern New York, the conversation is most often focused on the users, the dealers, rehabilitation and law-enforcement. While these conversations are critical to helping our communities rid themselves of these drugs, I cannot help but think that there is one other aspect that may not be receiving the attention it deserves, how is this problem affecting children?
The Cornerstone Club in Fulton will host a workshop presented by the Alzheimer’s Association entitled, “Legal and Financial Planning”, on May 14 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. This educational workshop is free of charge and open to the public.
Six SUNY Potsdam students were recently inducted into Pi Sigma Alpha, the national political science honor society, during a ceremony held on April 17. The inductees included Haley Davie, a Politics major from Phoenix, NY.
