SUNY Oswego’s RSVP is seeking volunteers in Oswego County to assist senior citizens and others with the preparation of their federal and state income tax returns. The training for both new and seasoned tax aides will take place Jan. 7 to 11 in Baldwinsville.

Employees of Constellation Energy Nuclear Group’s Nine Mile Point Nuclear Station delivered a generous donation of Thanksgiving food for families that they adopted through Catholic Charities of Oswego County.

Central and Northern New Yorkers have donated more than 2,200 holiday cards to State Senator Patty Ritchie’s offices for distribution to service members at military installations, veterans hospitals and other locations around the world through the American Red Cross program “Holiday Mail for Heroes.”

Several local residents are scheduled to complete their graduate studies this year at SUNY Oswego and will be recognized Dec. 15 at the college’s commencement.

Staff members will present an overview of the agency’s services from 11 a.m. to noon on Dec. 18, in the administrative conference room on the second floor of the Oswego County Office Complex, 70 Bunner St., Oswego.

The Oswego County Legislature’s Public Safety and Emergency Services Committee presented Michael Allen with a certificate of appreciation for his 30 years of service.
